My English class has turned into an art one this past month. The first image is our take home quiz today—we had to draw the characters in The Things They Carried. (AP public school education…) You should pretend you don’t see the painful anatomy mistakes; obviously, drawing out of my element of “fragile thin man” is a bit…challenging. It was a good character exercise, though.
The second image is the first page of the packet we had to complete while reading Catcher in the Rye. This was the first book I’ve reread—I had slammed through it in a day in eighth grade prior to its assignation. I usually avoid rereading books because I cannot stand monotonous repetition, but Catcher was just as brilliant—if not more so—on its second go.
The third image is my birthday card to Cole. He always tells me he wants my pants, so now he has five of them.
to-day i went to best buy and picked up break it yourself (2) as well as a canon elph 300 hs. these are photos i took with it; i’m a terrible photographer but for a point-and-shoot, the 300 works really well! (this is coming from a spoiled yearbook eic who works with 7Ds all day.)
i may or may not have made the purchase because i’m seeing radiohead in three weeks. i received my previous point-and-shoot in eighth grade, and it dies without natural lighting. i’ve given up trying to capture concerts for the most part—but this thing apparently works miracles in dark situations (true) and also records 1080p.
it also has a pinhole camera effect, which i abuse in 1, 2, 5, 6. the right half of 3 displays its super saturation mode.
neato.
a lot of dumb things i’ve done (some are really old)
1 & 2 celebrate sow’s revival
3 is something i drew for sophia when she thought of cosplaying simon
4 is my goatling BE MY FRIEND and idek what 5 is
6 is a rejected sketch-up of the cvyo program for this semester (not only did i get the name of the concert wrong i also apparently did not capture my conductor’s ‘vision’ so idek what i want to do now)
7 is a Very Good Thing i did for a friend’s birthday…
8 is a super sugoi bunny!!!! sugoi!!! i am so good at sewing holy shit it only took 2 hours. (i was inspired by andrew bird’s sock monkey and ended up making a sad…one-armed…sock..bunny…creature…tumor..thing)
The Communism Song
This was a collaboration between two friends (1 2) and me for our English project.

in english, we had to make an advertisement for a predetermined product, in the theme of valentine’s day. and then a parody of that advertisement.
